Plot
Will Ferrell plays Buddy, an average sized human who was raised at the North Pole as an elf. Although he was much taller than the other elves, Buddy did not realize he was any different until he was 30 years old. When Buddy asked about the situation Papa Elf, played by Bob Newhart, explains that his mother had passed away and his father was a business man who is on "the naughty list." Buddy travels to New York City to meet his father Walter Hobbs, played by James Caan. After meeting his father, Buddy spreads his Christmas cheer around the city by singing Christmas carols, making decorations and indulging in his love of maple syrup and other sweets.
