Eldad Regev was one of two Israeli reserve soldiers kidnapped in July 2006 by Hezbollah.1
His remains, along with those of Ehud Goldwasser, were returned to Israel on July 16, 2008. In return, Israel will release five Lebanese prisoners, including Samir Kuntar.2

Elad Regev Background
Regev and Ehud "Udi" Goldwasser were stationed in northern Israel near the Lebanese border when they were attacked and abducted. The event touched off a 34-day battle between Israel and Hezbollah. Neither soldier was recovered.4
In July 2008 Hezbollah and Israel signed a prisoner exchange deal that would result in the recovery of the soldiers' remains.4
