Anti-Gay Remarks
On July 23, 2008, during a House Armed Services personnel subcommittee hearing on the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, Donnelly warned that the inclusion of homosexuals in the armed forces could result in the spread of HIV among soldiers. She claimed that homosexuals would bring "erotic factors" into the military that could potentially discourage "people who do have religious convictions" from joining or remaining in service.2
