Guide Note: Edward Marquette, an inspector in the New York City Department of Buildings division of cranes and derricks, was arrested March 19, 2008, on charges related to falsifying records. He allegedly lied about inspecting the crane that collapsed March 15 in a Manhattan neighborhood. The crane collapse ended up killing seven people. An investigation into the collapse has been ongoing. This is the first arrest related to the incident.
