Plot Summary
On a whim, average businessman Edmond Burke visits a fortune teller on his way home from work. The fortune teller provides him with an unexpected and disturbing reading. After fighting with his wife, Edmond leaves her and visits a series of bars, brothels and other seedy locales while wandering the streets of New York. After being repeatedly faced with violence and depravity, Edmond finds himself irrevocably changed and acts out his anger and frustration in surprising ways.
