Psychic Healing
Following the loss of his voice in 1900 from a bout of laryngitis, Cayce sought out help from "Hart - The Laugh Man" and Al Layne, both hypnotists. Each contributed to the return of Cayce's voice. Layne had Cayce describe his affliction while in a trance, which led to the discovery that Cayce had healing abilities. With the encouragement of Layne, Cayce began offering psychic healing, for free, to local townsfolk. He continued treating people throughout his life.1
