Eddie Adcock
Eddie Adcock is a bluegrass banjo musician who plays the guitar. In October, 2008, Adcock underwent brain surgery in order to fix a tremor in his hand. During the surgery, he was kept awake and played his banjo in order to gauge the success of the treatment.1
Surgeons performed a procedure called "deep brain stimulation," which is like a pacemaker for the brain. Surgeons placed an electrode in an area of Adcock's brain which, when stimulated, eliminates his hand tremors.1
