Ebony Garcia
Ebony Garcia was stabbed to death in Queens, New York on August 23, 2008. Despite an order of protection Garcia had against her ex-boyfriend, Segundo Penafiel, she was seen with Penafiel at a bar that night. Witnesses told the police the couple left the bar, which was near the building where she died, together.1
According to police, Garcia and Pinafiel had three domestic abuse reports since June 2008. During one of those incidents, Penafiel allegedly hit Garcia with an iron and was charged with felony assault . He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
