Guide Note

ER is an Emmy Award-winning American television drama created by Michael Crichton for NBC. It centers around the live of Emergency Room doctors and nurses in a Chicago hospital.

It is one of the longest running shows still on the air. While the cast has changed dramatically through the years and some stories have taken place on the other side of the world, the thrust of most of the episodes is the drama that occurs between the doctors, patients, and nurses in County General Hospital.

The program has garnered critical acclaim and countless Emmy nominations and wins. NBC has announced that the fifteenth season will be its last. The show will end in the Spring of 2008.
