Dustin Luis Pedroia was born in Woodland, California on August 17, 1983. He would attend Woodland High School where he would establish himself as an excellent High School Prospect. He would move on to attend [[Arizona State University where he would develop in to an excellent hitting second baseman and shortstop.

Pedroia would be drafted in the second round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox. He would make his major league debut on August 22, 2006 against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In 2007, Pedroia would become the starting second baseman for the team, and would help spark the Red Sox to a World Series Championship.
