Super Bowl XXXIX
After losing two straight years in the NFC Championship Game, McNabb finally reached the Super Bowl XXXIX after a tremendous season. However, McNabb had a sub par game in the Super Bowl, throwing three crucial interceptions and getting sacked four times. It was also reported that McNabb became dehydrated at the end of the game and vomited in the huddle, leading to poor clock management. McNabb has denied the report. McNabb finished the game with 30 completions for 357 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Eagles lost the game to the New England Patriots 24-21.5
The T.O. Issue
Wide receiver Terrell Owens (McNabb's teammate at the time) began calling out McNabb after the Super Bowl loss. Owens also refused to speak to McNabb as he continued to make comments to the press about his quarterback and the Eagle organization. Owens was demanding a contract extension at the time. Amidst the distraction, Owens was deactivated for the 2005 season. McNabb would finish the year on the injured list and Owens was eventually release, signing with the Dallas Cowboys.6
