Don Meredith

Retired National Football League quarterback Don Meredith played nine seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. After his retirement from professional football, he transitioned into broadcasting, including several seasons on Monday Night Football.

Playing Career

Meredith was the quarterback for the Southern Methodist University football team, earning All-American honors twice. He was drafted 32nd overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1960 NFL Draft. Although never reaching the Super Bowl, Meredith earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections, starting in 1966. Following the 1968 regular season he retired from professional football.

Broadcasting Career

Meredith provided color commentary on ABC for Monday Night Football for three seasons starting in 1970. He left the program for broadcasting on NBC in 1974, then returned to MNF in 1977. Following the broadcast of Super Bowl XIX in 1984, he retired from broadcasting.
