American actress Dina Meyer has received attention for her role in science fiction and horror films such as Starship Troopers and the Saw movies.

Although Meyer has appeared in mainstream work, it is through her work in horror, science fiction and fantasy films and TV shows that she has become most prominent. Her breakout roles in Johnny Mnemonic and Dragonheart garnered her a loyal fan base, and she gained widespread notice in science fiction actioner Starship Troopers, playing Dizzy Flores, a character who had been male in the original novel. She took part in other notable properties, including a Romulan in Star Trek Nemesis and as former Batgirl Barbara Gordon in the short-lived TV series Birds of Prey, a wheelchair-bound character that relied more on intellect than on some of the action chops Meyer had honed in previous films.

Saw

Meyer played another smart detective in the Saw movies, where as Detective Allison Kerry, her mind was tested working out the puzzles of fiendish serial killer Jigsaw.
