The antihistamine Dimebon is a drug being studied in the United States and Russia as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease.1
In Russia, Dimebon became on obsolete drug of choice for allergies, but gained attention in 2000, when animal studies showed the possibility that it could treat Alzheimer's disease.2
