Donaghy's Allegations
Tim Donaghy, the former NBA referee who pleaded guilty in 2007 to betting on games that he was officiating, told federal authorities that at least one referee assigned to Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings made calls with the express intent of tilting the game in favor of the Lakers. NBA Commissioner David Stern dismissed Donaghy's allegations as baseless.2
