History

In 1898, DePaul University was founded by Vincentian priests of the Roman Catholic Church who follow the teachings of 17th century French priest St. Vincent de Paul. Their mission was to emphasize academic excellence as well as service to the community.¹

Chicago Riverwalk

In 2007, the Chicago Riverwalk Development Committee was formed to help develop a promenade along a part of the Chicago river which runs through the heart of downtown. The goal is to have an area to attract visitors and tourists that will boost the economy and highlight the restaurants, architecture, history and cultural attractions of the city.²
