David Spade is an actor/comedian who has appeared in numerous films and sitcoms in addition to doing stand-up comedy. Soon after performing regularly for a sketch comedy show while in college, Spade joined the cast of NBC's Saturday Night Live in 1990 where he starred in sketches with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, and others. He introduced America to his biting wit with his "Weekend Update" segment, "The Hollywood Minute," in which he sarcastically ridiculed celebrities.

Movie Career

After SNL, Spade kicked off his movie career with roles alongside Farley in Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. He would also eventually play the starring role in films such as Joe Dirt and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, and lend his voice to Disney's the Emperor's New Groove in 2000.

Television

Spade's career wasn't limited to the big screen, however. He landed roles in sitcoms, too: Dennis Finch in Just Shoot Me!, C.J. Barnes in 8 Simple Rules, Russell in Rules of Engagement. He also briefly hosted The Showbiz Show with David Spade and continues to perform stand-up regularly.
