David Robinson

Early Years

Robinson did not play basketball until his senior year in high school. By then, he had grown to 6 feet, 7 inches and earned multiple honors on the court. However, he garnered little interest from local scouts, and decided to attend the United States Naval Academy, where he became a standout player.

NBA Years

Granted a leave from the Naval Academy, the Spurs drafted Robinson in 1989 as their number 1 pick. With the Spurs, Robinson won two championships in 1999-2003, and was the league MVP in 1995. He was also voted to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team and retired in 2003.
