David Nam was arrested in South Korea on March 19, 2008 for his alleged involvement in the killing of retired police officer Anthony Schroeder during a home invasion robbery in Pennsylvania in 1997. Nam was on bond awaiting a trial date when he fled to South Korea in 1998.

Brief Biography

Despite being ordered by the court to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet after his 1997 arrest, Nam managed to escape to South Korea. The following year, after a television program aired his photograph, Nam surrendered to South Korean authorities, but because the nation had no extradition treaty with the United States at the time, Nam was released and disappeared. Nam then began teaching English in South Korea under a variety of assumed names before his arrest in March, 2008.¹
