David Caruso

Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee David Caruso plays hard-nosed detective Horatio Caine on the popular CBS series CSI: Miami. His breakthrough role came in 1993, when he starred as Detective John Kelly in the groundbreaking ABC cop drama NYPD Blue.

Greener Pastures?

Caruso surprised NYPD Blue fans by leaving the show for a film career just a few episodes into its second season. His appearances in films such as Kiss of Death with Nicolas Cage did little to further his career, and in 2002 he made a welcome return to television by joining the Miami-set spinoff of what was at the time television's No. 1-rated show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
