General Gameplay Tips

  1. Technocyte Virus: The virus turns the infected into mad, zombie-like creatures. Some of the infected develop special abilities and powers. You’ve been infected with this virus, but you’re one of the few who develops these abilities, which helps you to fight back.
  2. Rubles: These are the in game currency. They can be found scattered throughout the game. Collecting Rubles allows you to purchase new weapons in the Black Market.
  3. The Black Market: When you become infected by the Technocyte Virus, you’re no longer able to use the weapons dropped by enemies because they have Governors on them. When this occurs, the only way for you to get new weapons is in the Black Market. The market offers pistols, shotguns, and rifles, and you can also store weapons in a locker here. This is also where you can apply the upgrades you find throughout the game.
  4. Governors: These are devices on enemy weapons that keep the infected from using them. Once you’re infected, you can still pick up enemy weapons, but they’ll only work for a few short seconds.
  5. Upgrades: These can be found throughout the game, and they’re used to upgrade your weapons. All upgrades can be applied in the Black Market.
  6. Finishers: When an enemy is near death they glow red. If you get close to an enemy while they are glowing red, you can perform a finishing move, which is a stylized, one hit kill. If you wait too long, the red glow around the enemy can disappear and you lose your chance to do the finisher.
  7. Enferon Gas: This gas is used by the troopers, against the infected. It causes your vision to blur and change colors. If you don’t get clear of it fast enough, you die.
  8. Proto-Armor: This is a heavy duty armor acquired in Chapter 8. It boosts the power of the Glaive, makes you immune to Enferon Gas, and allows you to take more damage.

Weapons

  1. Glaive: This is your main weapon throughout the game that’s gained along with the Technocyte Virus. It’s a three pronged, boomerang type weapon, which is thrown at enemies. It will always return so that you can throw it again. It’s used in combination with your pistol and cannot be used with any other guns.
    1. Charging the Glaive: You can charge the glaive on certain elements and utilize them to enhance your attacks.
      1. Electricity: You’re able to charge your glaive with electricity, which helps to take down enemies. You also need electricity to open certain doors throughout the game.
      2. Fire: You can charge your glaive with fire, which must be used throughout the game to burn black masses that block your path.
      3. Ice: Charging your glaive with ice allows you to freeze enemies. At certain points, you’re able to freeze water to create cover and access to new areas. Ice also helps you put out fires that are blocking your way.
    2. Steal: This ability allows you to grab distant objects with the Glaive. You’re able to grab upgrades, ammo boxes, and enemy weapons, which can help you during fire fights.
    3. Power Throw: This quadruples the power of the Glaive, if you charge your throw just right. It’s used to open certain gates and ammo boxes throughout the game. This helps immensely in taking down enemies because, no matter where you hit an enemy, it will hack them apart.
    4. afterTouch: This allows you to guide the Glaive after it has already been thrown. Tapping RB a second time zooms in on the Glaive in slow motion, which allows you to put it precisely where you want it. Using afterTouch in combination with a Power Throw can cause untold damage to any enemies in your way. Throughout the game, you have to utilize afterTouch to guide you Glaive through small openings to hit buttons or charge the Glaive.
    5. Shield: This ability allows you to generate a small shield, which protects your front. It can protect you from everything except melee attacks. The shield is very useful, but it only lasts a few seconds.
    6. energyPulse: When your Glaive is charged with an element such as fire, ice, or electricity, you can use energyPulse to fire a blast of that element at groups of enemies. This is a great attack to use if you’re surrounded, but it immediately strips the charge from your Glaive after you use it.
    7. Shift: This ability allows you to turn invisible for a short period of time. You can use this to sneak up on enemies and perform a finisher for a quick kill. If you’re health is low and you need to get to cover, turn Shift on to go invisible and get out of the way.
  2. Pistols: These weapons can be used in combination with the Glaive. They’re less powerful, but in combination with the Glaive, they’re handy. There’s a wide variety to choose from, but each one, given the right upgrades, can be used throughout the game.
  3. Shotguns: There are a few shotguns from which you can choose. They all have slow reload times, but they’re amazingly powerful, close range weapons. If you’re using a shotgun, it’s best to upgrade it with a Reload Speed Upgrade.
  4. Rifles: These cannot be used with the Glaive, but they’re powerful enough on their own. These are the best guns in the game, and in combination with the right upgrades, you may use them more than the Glaive.
  5. Grenades: These are nice to have and they can deal good damage to an enemy. However, you may be having so much fun with other weapons, that you forget you even have grenades.
  6. Rocket Launchers: These cannot be purchased at the Black Market, and they’re only found when you need them. They are amazingly powerful, but they are only every needed, and available, for boss battles.
  7. Elite Trooper Gun: This has a machine gun and a rocket launcher. The machine gun has unlimited ammo and the rocket launcher has 20 shots per gun. You can’t use this until you get the Proto-Armor late in the game. It can only be gotten from the corpse of an Elite Trooper.

Chapter 1: Prologue

  • NOTE: The videos embedded below are taken from various sources around the web, and so may present an alternative strategy to our written walkthrough
  • YouTube: Dark Sector Prologue PT. 1 (Time: 10:34) | PT. 2

  1. Follow the path down, which leads to a right turn through some arches. After the arches, vault over the wall.
  2. Go through the window on your left.
  3. Melee the ammo box on the table. Follow the prompt to shoot the lock on the door.
  4. Follow the walkway down to the lower level. There's a projector showing a film.
  5. TIP: The film gives some useful information that helps to understand things.
  6. Plant a C4 charge on the second pillar to the right before you leave.
  7. Exit the room through the double doors and follow the hallway.
  8. Go down the stairs and into the shower room.
  9. Go to your right and down the hall. You can hear a man begging. Take cover before peeking around the corner. Shoot the guy with the rifle and take it for yourself.
  10. There's a spot on the pillar to the right where you need to plant another C4 charge.
  11. Follow the hall until you run into some more enemies. Shoot them from cover. One may set off the alarm. If this happens just shoot the alarm.
  12. TIP: These troopers love to throw grenades. If they throw one just jump out of the way into another cover spot. Also, remember to always pick up their dropped ammo to keep yourself well stocked.
  13. Grab the ammo box in the room to your left.
  14. Continue down the hall until you encounter more troops.
  15. When you've kill them, go into the room behind them to grab another ammo box.
  16. Go back into the hall and deal with the enemies to your left.
  17. Shoot off the lock on the door at the end of the hallway. A cut scene will start.
  18. After the cut scene, go up the stairs in front of you. Take cover next to the open door and kill the enemies inside before entering.
  19. The large wooden doors on the left are open. Take cover against the doors. Kill the enemies inside the next room.
  20. Go to the end of the room. Get on the walkway to your left. Follow it along the length of the room and up the stairs.
  21. The game tells you to hold the A button to run. Do this and run to the other end of the walkway to avoid the helicopter fire. If you don’t run the helicopter can pick you off pretty quickly.
  22. In this room you need to plant another C4 charge. Grab the ammo box before going out the door.
  23. Go down the steps and head over to the large shipping containers for cover. The helicopter will blast the steps. Afterwards, some enemies will come out to play. Shoot them and don’t worry about the helicopter because it will leave you be for now.
  24. When all the enemies are dead the helicopter comes after you.

BOSS: Kamov Helicopter

  1. In between the large shipping containers there's a rocket launcher and a crate (which you can open by hitting B) with more rocket ammo.
  2. Utilize cover while moving to avoid the helicopters fire.
  3. Wait until the helicopter hovers in a single spot. When it does this it should stop shooting. Aim and wait for the rocket launcher to lock on. A beep will sound when you've locked on. Then all you have to do is fire. It should only take three shots to bring it down.
  4. TIP: Don’t waste rockets by firing on the helicopter while it’s moving because you’ll probably miss, and avoid the rockets it fires at you as they will kill you in a single hit. This isn’t that tough as long as you utilize cover, otherwise, the helicopter will tear you apart rather quickly.

Chapter 2: Exposure

  1. After the cut scene, walk forward into the shack in the distance. Hayden is in pain and he's not going to be walking straight. Do what you have to in order to make him go forward.
  2. In the shack, a cut scene will start. Afterwards, you get the glaive.
  3. Go out the door and take cover behind the boxes. Use your glaive to take out the enemies who appear.
  4. TIP: It’s easy to miss with the glaive the first few times, but keep doing it to get the hang of how it works.
  5. TIP: When an enemy starts glowing red you can go up to them and do a finisher. If you do 30 finishers you can unlock an achievement.
  6. TIP: Because you’re infected the weapons the troopers are using will not work for you for more than a few seconds. Don’t even bother with them as you won’t be able to utilize them fully again for a few chapters. Your pistol will still work for you, but using only the glaive for the entire level will unlock an achievement.
  7. There's an opening on the left. Go inside and deal with any enemies. On one of the tables to the left you should find some Rubles.
  8. TIP: Rubles are the in game currency. You can purchase weapons with Rubles later on. Pick them up when ever you see them as it comes in handy throughout. If you get 50,000 Rubles you unlock an achievement.
  9. Go to the back left and head upstairs. There are some ammo boxes around, but only break them open if aren't going for the glaive achievement. There are also Rubles on the table behind the steps.
  10. Go out the door to the left of the steps.
  11. Once outside, more enemies show up. Get into cover and cut their heads off. When you've killed all the enemies, you receive the Steal ability.
  12. TIP: Steal allows you to use the glaive in getting guns and items from a long distance. All you have to do is aim at the gun or item you want and then throw the glaive at it. When the glaive comes back to you it’ll bring along whatever you where aiming at.
  13. Use the Steal ability in order to grab some C4 off the scaffolding to the left. Take the C4 and plant it on the blue door to your right. Step back and let it blow.
  14. Go inside the now open door. There are Rubles on the table to your right.
  15. Continue forward until you reach a gap. Throw the glaive at the shinning box across the gap and it brings back a Fire Rate Upgrade.
  16. Go through the door on the right and fall through the floor.
  17. Just outside the door are some guys with shotguns. Once you've killed them, keep going down the hallway.
  18. At the end of the hallway, next to the hole in the wall, are some Rubles on a table. Grab them and go through the hole where there's an ammo box.
  19. Exit out the door and some enemies enter the warehouse. Kill all who stand in your way.
  20. TIP: If the screen starts turning different colors that's from an Enferon gas grenade. Enemies will throw these at you. If you start seeing colors, run until it stops, otherwise, you die.
  21. You are going to hear a roar and then you see the Colossus beat up on the enemies. When all the enemies are dead he comes after you.

BOSS: Colossus (Round 1)

  1. If you’re still in the warehouse, this would be the time to get outside as there's more room to maneuver.
  2. TIP: This is mainly you dodging his attacks. There is not need to shoot at him.
  3. If he charges you just use dodge to get out of the way. He will start picking up stuff to throw at you. You can dodge these or shoot them down.
  4. TIP: If you shoot down ten items that have been thrown at you an achievement can be unlocked.
  5. After a short while, something odd happens. The Colossus will run away to end Round 1.

Chapter 2 Contd.

  1. Around the right side of the building, if you look up, there's another glowing box in an archway. Use your Steal ability to get the Fire Power Upgrade.
  2. In the middle of the area there is a large bridge with a flashing red light across the way. Throw your glaive at the light to lower the bridge.
  3. On the other side, there's an ammo box and then just beyond that some Rubles are on top of a large crate.
  4. Go through the double doors and find a grate with a lock on it. Shoot the lock and jump down the grate.

Chapter 3: Baggage Claim

  1. Just ahead on your right, there's an ammo box and Rubles on a shelf. Grab them and continue on.
  2. When you get outside, look out on your left for some pieces of wood lying against the cliff as you’ll find some Rubles there.
  3. Continue on through the arches and you reach a camp with some tents. Take cover at the first tent as there are plenty of enemies beyond your position. Pop out and kill them all.
  4. TIP: You can use your Steal ability to grab their weapons while still in cover as well as the ammo box across to the right.
  5. Once you've killed them, move to where the enemies were. Take cover again as you face some more enemies. Afterwards, you get Power Throw.
  6. TIP: Power Throw, if timed correctly, will increase the damage delivered by your glaive. However, it is split second timing, so you have to get used to it. When you aim at something hold RB and there's a slight rumble in the controller when your crosshairs change color. That’s when you have to throw it, right at that time, not after it.
  7. After the tents, you encounter a locked gate where you need to use the Power Throw on the lock. In the tent in front of you is an Accuracy Upgrade as well as an ammo box that you have to open using the Power Throw.
  8. Continue on along the path by the water until you reach another locked gate. Use your Power Throw on the gate.
  9. Go into the next area where, again, you face some guys. Take cover and unleash the Power Throw of the glaive. The key here is to try and keep moving forward as you take enemies out.
  10. When you finally make it up the stairs, you encounter a machine gun turret. Try and take out the enemies on the ground first and then deal with the turret. Either way, you should try and always remain in cover. You can shoot the enemy inside the turret or you can just use the Power throw and take it down quick.
  11. When everything settles down, grab the ammo box in the tent and the Rubles off the table on your left.
  12. There's a locked grate to the left of the turret. Shoot the lock off and jump in.
  13. Follow the hallways until you reach a room with three dead bodies. The one on the left has some Rubles next to it.
  14. There's a small hallway next to him which leads to a box on the wall that’s sparking. Throw your glaive into the sparks to charge it with electricity.
  15. TIP: This is something that you can do throughout the game with fire, ice, and electricity.
  16. Go to the door that’s sparking and hit it with the charged glaive to open it up.
  17. TIP: There's a Fire Power Upgrade behind the large generator in the room. Use the Steal power to grab it before leaving.
  18. Continue down the corridors until you encounter Howlers (zombie creatures) eating a body. Kill them, but watch out as they’ll charge you. They may even grab you, but, if they do, a prompt is given to tap a button, which will get them off you.
  19. Continue into the room and you have to deal with more Howlers. There's another electric box at the back of the room for you to charge your glaive and kill them quicker. Don’t forget to grab the Rubles off the table near where you entered.
  20. Charge the glaive before you leave, and follow the corridor by the electric box to another door you have to open with a charged glaive.
  21. Go through the door and down the ladder. Turn your flashlight on by hitting up on the D-Pad. A mass of Howlers attacks you. Start killing and try to cut off a few heads. Try and stay in a corner so you can see them coming at you.
  22. Once you've killed them, you can go through the door at the top of the stairs. In the next room, you find an Ammo Box, a Double Shot Upgrade, and a lock you need to break open with a Power Throw.
  23. Get on the elevator.
  24. When you get off the elevator, there's an ammo box to your right. Before leaving the room you get afterTouch.
  25. TIP: AfterTouch allows you to control the glaive after you throw it. Once you throw the glaive, you can hit and hold RB to control the glaive. This allows you to rack up multiple kills in a single throw.
  26. Leave the room and go to your right. You find some stairs going down and enemies start shooting at you. Take cover at the top of the stairs and try out the afterTouch ability.
  27. TIP: If you’re able to master the afterTouch, combine it with a Power Throw and head shot to try and get two decapitations in a row, which will yield an achievement.
  28. You can take out all the enemies from up top, but at some point a trooper with a shield (a.k.a. Mauler) will come at you. The easiest way to kill him is to throw the glaive at his shield. This will cause him to move it away from himself. Then he is open to gunfire. Do this a few times and he goes down.
  29. When the area is clear, there's some stairs in the middle that go down into a small room. Here, you find some Rubles on a shelf and a Clip Extender Upgrade behind some boxes.
  30. Go back outside and pull a u-turn to go up the steps behind you. Follow the walkway until you can go right. Find another structure with stairs going down just like the last one. Here, you’ll find some more Rubles and an ammo box.
  31. Go back outside and pull another u-turn. Go to the gate on your right. In order to open it, you need to throw the glaive and enter afterTouch to guide it over the fence. Then, guide it down to hit the button. This can be a little tricky, but just aim for a spot slightly above the gate. Then, enter afterTouch as quickly as possible.
  32. Open the door for a cut scene.
  33. When it’s over, there's an ammo box that you have to open with a Power Throw. Then, bust open the lock on the ladder to your right and climb down.
  34. Go down the corridor and open the double doors to end the level.

Chapter 4: Moths to the Flame

  1. When you head towards the gate, you need to do a Power Throw to break the lock. You then see the Colossus smash some things up and run away.
  2. Grab the Rubles off the table to your left and the ammo box to your right.
  3. Head down the steps. There's a chest of Rubles on the ground and some more on the table to your left. Straight ahead from the second table is another chest of Rubles.
  4. Turn right at the last table and head down the alleyway until you reach the manhole. This is your first stop at the Black Market.
  5. TIP: For the time being, it’s best to keep your current pistol. You can buy an AKS-74, which is the best gun you are able to afford at the moment. It’s also recommended that you do some upgrades on the weapons as well. This is where you can put all the upgrades you’ve picked up on the weapons. You should, however, leave at least one upgrade space open so later on you are able to add Enferon shells to the open slot. You can sell some stuff, and later, when you have more money, you can buy more guns, as well as store some in the locker. If you peruse through it for a few minutes you’ll get the hang of things.
  6. After you leave the Black Market, go up the steps and hang a left. Go to the opening in the railing and jump down.
  7. When you hit the ground, troopers come out. Take cover and show them the new guns you bought. After a short while, you're met by another Mauler. He charges you while you're under heavy fire, so while he’s around, this can be hard.
  8. TIP: Hiding behind the trees is only a temporary fix as the wood will get shot away relatively fast. Find some solid cover. There's also a sparking power line above you so you can charge your glaive on it and use that to help take these goons down.
  9. After these enemies are down, head to your left. You are met by another wave of troopers. Take cover and watch out for the turret. You're also met by another Mauler, so try and take the turret out quick so you can deal with the Mauler in relative peace.
  10. Head up the stairs on the right. Go towards the end and on your left is a Quarantine door with a Puncture Upgrade next to it.
  11. Turn around and go into the double doors you went past.
  12. Inside, there's an ammo box and some Rubles at the table in front of you.
  13. Run around the corner and bust open the door with your glaive.
  14. When you enter the courtyard, you are attacked by Howlers. You can take them on in the courtyard, but since you have to go to it soon anyways there is a room on the left with a sparking electric box.
  15. When you've killed them all, head to the center area. Find the valve in the structure that resembles a fountain. Turn it and gas will erupt out of the top.
  16. Head to the room with the electric box in it and charge the glaive. Throw the charged glaive into the gas, which lights it on fire. When the glaive comes back, it should be on fire. Throw the flaming glaive at the black mass blocking the exit and it will burn up.
  17. TIP: On the right side of the exit, you can find a Reload Speed Upgrade before you leave.
  18. Go through the double doors. There's an ammo box on your left. Pick it up and go up the stairs.
  19. Deal with the Howler and then go into the room on the left. There are some Rubles on one of the desks. Move into the next room and pick up more Rubles on another desk.
  20. TIP: There is another projector with some interesting information about the infection.
  21. Head out the door on the right and follow along to the next door. You need to Power Throw the door open.
  22. Light the glaive on fire to take care of the black goop blocking your way.
  23. Take the elevator on the left up to the next floor, and then head out the doors back to the open walkway.
  24. Feel free to light the glaive on fire again before entering the door on the right. When you do you have to deal with more Howlers.
  25. Go through the doors the Howlers came through and head back outside.
  26. Follow the walkway until you reach some more black goop. Light the glaive on fire and burn through the goop.
  27. Go through the open door and grab the Rubles on the table and the ammo box on the floor. Head through the door to your right to trigger a cut scene.
  28. Slide down the wall on the left and head towards the barricade on your right. There are some enemies here. Kill the ones you can, but after a while the Colossus shows up and finishes the job.
  29. Go forward until you see two tents. There's ammo and Rubbles in both of them. On the right side of the tents you’ll find a Fire Rate Upgrade.
  30. Go down the alley across from the tents and you come to another Black Market manhole.
  31. TIP: There’s nothing new here just yet so there’s no reason to stop.
  32. Continue down the alley and head into the door. Hang a right and go down the steps. There’s an ammo box across the gap that you can Steal.
  33. Go through the door on your right. Kill the enemy on the turret. There are plenty of enemies here who need to die, so take cover. After a few enemies go down, you're met by a team of two Maulers. Be careful because you are still taking fire from their friends. Keep killing and, soon enough, you're met by a third Mauler.
  34. TIP: Using the turret is fun, but it’s recommended that you do it in short bursts as you will get light up if you're there to long.
  35. Once all the enemies are dead, you can pick up an ammo box and a Stopping Power Upgrade to the right of the turret. You can grab some Rubles and a Power Throw ammo box from the tent.
  36. Head up the stairs to the right of the tent and then follow the alleyway.
  37. TIP: There are sparking lights along the walls that you can use to charge your glaive. Each one can only be used once.
  38. Go left and grab the Rubles by the first dumpster. Continue on and you reach an area with more troopers. You're met by two more Maulers, this time it’ll be right away, so be prepared for that.
  39. TIP: Just beyond this area, after the truck, there's another Black Market entrance, but there's still nothing new there.
  40. When you've killed everyone, head down the small alleyway to the left of the truck. You find some yellow bags with some Rubles next to them.
  41. Just after the Rubles, take cover on the wall to the right. Look around the corner to see a guy on a turret. Take him out and then turn your attention to the enemies below.
  42. Jump down to the area below. Vault over the sand bags. There's an ammo box on one end and stairs on the other.
  43. Go up the stairs to encounter a Jackal.

BOSS: Jackal

  1. This thing will stay in the center of the area, so you stay on the edges.
  2. It will fire its machine guns which can easily be avoided by running or staying in cover. It also has a cannon attack, which is more powerful.
  3. There's a Rocket Launcher and an ammo box behind the crates on your right. Pick them up and stay in cover.
  4. Fire at its eye/center with the rockets. It will occasionally stop firing. Those are the best times to pop out and shoot.
  5. When you’re out of ammo, there are more crates on the right with one more rocket. Pick it up and use it.
  6. Just to the right, there's a bench/plant with another rocket. Grab it, take cover in the arches to the right, and use it there.
  7. TIP: Do not take cover behind the bench/plant combo as it will not hold up.
  8. Proceed through the arches and find another bench/plant combo with another rocket. Grab it, take cover, and use it when you can.
  9. That last rocket will take it down leaving it in a burning heap. If you happened to miss with one or it doesn’t go down, there are more rockets on the bench/plant combos across the way.

Chapter 4 Contd.

  1. There are some ammo boxes around the area to pick up. After that, light your glaive on fire from the remains of the Jackal and burn your way through the black goop.
  2. Go through the door.
  3. Enter the open area with the staircase. In the small hall in front of you you’ll find some Rubles. To your right you’ll find a small room with an ammo box and a gas leak.
  4. Go up the stairs, pull a u-turn, and open the wooden door behind you. You find a sparking electric box. Charge the glaive and then run to the other end of the area where you find a room with a hole in the floor looking down into the room with the gas leak. Use the charged glaive to light the gas on fire.
  5. Pick up the Rubles in the room. Go out into the hall and use the fiery glaive to burn the black goop in your way.
  6. Go up the stairs where there's an ammo box behind you. Head through the door on your left where you can grab another ammo box, and light the glaive on fire through the hole in the floor. Go back into the hall and torch more black goop in your way.
  7. Go up the stairs and stop before going any further. Directly to your left is an Accuracy Upgrade.
  8. TIP: Do not go any farther into the room because it will trigger a cut scene and you won’t be able to get the upgrade.
  9. Grab the upgrade with the Steal function and head into the attic for a cut scene.
  10. After the cut scene, you can grab a Fire Rate Upgrade to your left. If you continue into the area there's another Black Market entrance.
  11. TIP: There's still nothing new here, so feel free to pass by it.
  12. To the left of the Black Market entrance is an arched tunnel leading down. Follow that and you come to an area where troopers and Howlers are fighting. Kill them all, but watch out for the turret on the bridge. Keep killing enemies as they come and fight your way to the bridge.
  13. When you reach the bridge, they sick two Maulers on you. Kill the guy on the turret if you haven’t already and hop the sandbags.
  14. Make your way across the bridge using sandbags as cover. You encounter more troopers and Howlers. Towards the end of the bridge you find a rocket launcher to your right. If you pick it up and fire it into the tunnel you can set off an explosion, which lights gas so you have fire for your glaive.
  15. Head down the tunnel and take a left. Follow the path until you get back outside.
  16. When you do, there's a destroyed building in front of you. Enter the building and grab the Enferon Shell Upgrade on your right. Behind the destroyed building, there's a van. Behind the van, is some Rubles.
  17. Use the Power Throw to open the gate by the van and enter the next area.
  18. Go to your right and you’ll find an ammo box. Just beyond the ammo box, there's a valve. Turn the valve and it lights a fire at the center of the area.
  19. Light your glaive and burn the black goop blocking your way.
  20. Go into the tunnel and when you reach the open area, you are attacked by Howlers.
  21. Once they're dead, continue on to the next area. Going through the left or right doesn’t matter. You can find an ammo box and some Rubles on a rock.
  22. Go down the steps on the left and watch out for two Moles. These things will come up out of the ground, and if you shoot them as soon as they do, you won’t have worry about them. They can be fast, but they’re easy to kill.
  23. Go up the stairs to your right and enter a circular room. Grab the Rubles in the center of the room. Howlers charge you, so go into the room at the back and turn the valve to light the torch in the circular room. Use this to help you take down the Howlers.
  24. When they’re all dead, you can grab a Reload Speed Upgrade on the left of the room with the valve.
  25. Light the glaive from the torch in the center of the room. Go outside and light the torch in front of you.
  26. Now, what you need to do is light the torch from the area you came from in the first place. The way to do this is to get close to the fence and then light the glaive from the burning torch. Throw is through the opening between the top of the fence and rock arch. Enter afterTouch to guide the glaive to the torch. This can take a few tries, but it's possible.
  27. Go to the torch you just lit and take out a wave of Howlers.
  28. After the Howlers, light up your glaive and burn the black goop blocking the path to the next area.
  29. Proceed down the steps and follow the path. You have to deal with two more Moles here. This path is blocked by more black goop.
  30. Go back to the last area and light your glaive. Run back down the path and when you get to the halfway point there's a torch up on the ledge to your right. Light that and then you can use the fire to burn the black goop in your way.
  31. Go into the new area and hang a right to trigger a cut scene.
  32. Head into the open area and kill the two guys who start shooting you. When they’re dead, you can grab the Puncture Upgrade behind the planter on the right side of the area.
  33. TIP: You can find a Black Market entrance near the fountain/burning tree/hole in the ground. This is a good time to go in and equip the Enferon Shell Upgrade. Put the upgrade on a weapon you like and use.
  34. When you’re done in this area, light your glaive on fire, and burn the black goop blocking the entrance to the church.
  35. Enter the church and grab the two ammo boxes at the bottom of the stairs. Head upstairs and into the main room of the church.

BOSS: Colossus (Round 2)

  1. You can see a fire burning at the other end of the room and right above that is an electric spark. These will both be useful for the battle. Run over to them and get your glaive charged up by one or the other.
  2. The Colossus starts by climbing a pillar and throwing things at you. Avoid what he throws and throw your charged glaive at him using afterTouch to help guide it.
  3. After a while, he falls to the ground. When this happens go over to him and do a finisher. You need to be facing his front to do this. After hitting B, you have to hit another button to do the full finisher. Then get away from him as he tries to deliver a blow to you.
  4. You can see a green mist around him. That’s his shields recharging. When this happens, he’ll jump back up to the pillars.
  5. After you do this three times, he’ll start charging you on the floor. This is like the first encounter. Jump out of the way of his charges and keep hitting him with your charged glaive.
  6. When you hit him with the charged glaive his shields go down. Shoot him with the gun that has the Enferon Shell Upgrade until the green mist brings back his shields.
  7. After a few times doing this he’ll die.

Chapter 4 Contd.

  1. TIP: You now have shieldPower, which will protect you from gunfire and thrown objects, but not from behind.
  2. Go around the area and pick up the ammo boxes. There's some Rubles in the back room behind the tattered curtain.
  3. On the floor here you’ll find a grate. Open it up and jump on in.
  4. Head down the steps and grab the Rubles on the table to your left. Head into the room. Take cover quickly as there's an automated, rocket launching turret.
  5. From cover aim at the large steal door. Then press Y to activate your shield and step out. You're going to be shot by a rocket, but it's deflected into the door causing it to blast open.
  6. Go through where the door was and head downstairs.
  7. Here, you find some Rubles on the table to your right and an ammo box further down on a table to the left.
  8. Go through the door on the left to trigger a cut scene.
  9. You now have one minute to get out of the building with your life.
  10. Go into the room on the right and grab the Upgrade Slots Upgrade.
  11. TIP: Try not to get hung up on enemies. Don’t stay to kill them all.
  12. Go back into the hallway and hang a left. Run to the end and hit B to jump up the step on the right. Run down the hallway and when you come to the end you need to jump down. You've made it out safe and sound.
  13. There's a Black Market entrance and just beyond that there's a Clip Extender Upgrade.
  14. TIP: There are some new guns if you can afford them, but mainly concentrate on upgrades for now.

Chapter 5: The Shipment

  1. Use the sparking electric box to charge your glaive and throw it at the sparking door at the end of the hall.
  2. Go through the door to get a cut scene.
  3. Take cover behind a pillar. The Jackal will keep firing at you, but your target is the black goop covered gate behind it.
  4. Sprint out to your right. Use the boxes as cover while moving towards the black goop. Stop at a box in the middle (not for to long as the jackal will blow the box apart) and take notice of the truck with the barrels on the back. Shoot the barrels. When they blow, use them to light your glaive.
  5. Continue towards the gate and use your charged glaive to burn the black goop.
  6. Now you have to throw the glaive at the fence, go into afterTouch, and hit the sparking box. Then, throw the charged glaive at the Jackal. This will stun it. When it's stunned, run around the back of it as quickly as possible. Hit B to take the driver out of the Jackal and get inside.
  7. TIP: Follow the prompt in order to learn the controls for tha Jackal.
  8. Blow up the wall on the right with the cannon and then start blasting the guys to see.
  9. TIP: If the Jackal starts smoking that means it can only take one ore two more hits. If it blows while you're inside it's an instant death.
  10. When you hear a loud beeping sound, a white marker aims to an enemy on screen. This means they are about to fire a rocket at you. Quickly hit Y to use your countermeasures. There should be two immediately in front of you when you take down the wall.
  11. Follow the path and blast anyone who comes at you.
  12. TIP: Keep an eye out for rockets because you can only take a few hits from them.
  13. Around the corner, you run into two more rocket goons.
  14. When you reach the bridge, you encounter two more rocket goons on top of it. Kill them before the ground troops.
  15. Pass under the bridge and take out anyone who’s left before exiting the Jackal.
  16. Head up the stairs on the left.
  17. In the building, you find some Rubles and an ammo Box dead ahead.
  18. Go up another set of steps and through the double doors.
  19. Straight ahead, you find another ammo box and some Rubles.
  20. Run down the train tracks on your right.
  21. When you reach the end of the tracks, you get energyPulse. This allows you, when your glaive is charged with an element, to release a large pulse of that particular element, which can wipe out a group of enemies.
  22. Go down the steps and you find some enemies to try your new ability on. Eventually, a Mauler shows up.
  23. After you kill everyone, go to the back of the area. Enter the room on the left. Grab the ammo box and Rubles and then go back outside.
  24. Go straight across to the other room. Grab the ammo box here and then head through the double doors to the next room.
  25. Take cover and deal with the enemies as they appear. Be prepared for the Mauler.
  26. When everyone's dead, head up the steps. You can see a helicopter fly over head and then a Mauler will bust through the double doors in front of you. Take him out and grab the ammo box on the floor.
  27. Go into the hallway where the Mauler came from. Follow it until it opens to a large area on your left.
  28. Take cover behind a pillar and take out the enemies. Feel free to move around the area because you’re bound to get nailed by Enferon gas.
  29. Go downstairs where there's a few ammo boxes around to grab. When you hit the bottom of the steps, there are some Rubles to the far right on a crate. There's also a Black Market entrance.
  30. TIP: There’s nothing new at the Black Market since your last visit.
  31. Head out the large open door and hang a right. You get shot at by a few enemies. Take cover behind the large shipping container and in a few seconds a cut scene starts.
  32. After the cut scene, head around the shipping crates, up some stairs, and into the boat. You come across a sniper looking out over the rest of the boat. Kill him and take cover. Take out the rest of the enemies below you.
  33. TIP: You can pick up the weapon of the trooper you just killed as it is a VX Carbine. You can use it to snipe people, but it still has a governor so that doesn’t last long.
  34. Jump down when all the enemies have been taken care of, or before, it’s your choice. The alarm will stop sounding when everyone's dead.
  35. Go right around the crates and grab an ammo box and a Double Shot Upgrade.
  36. Go forward on the deck to pick up a rocket launcher and an ammo box.

BOSS: Kamov Helicopter 2

  1. This is the same as the first round with the helicopter, except you have more cover now.
  2. Fire rockets at it whenever it's steady. Wait for the lock on beep and fire away.
  3. TIP: You should have five shots, but you only need three hits to bring it down. If you do run out of rockets there’s always more in the ammo box.
  4. When the helicopter crashes, it puts a huge hole in the floor.

Chapter 5 Contd.

  1. Jump down the huge hole created by the helicopter.
  2. Go straight past the wreckage and enter the room with Howlers in cages. One will pop out at you, so deal with him. Grab the ammo box on the right and hit the red button to open the door.
  3. In the next room, take a left at the first set of cages to find a Fire Power Upgrade.
  4. Continue to the back of the room and grab the ammo box.
  5. Proceed into the next room for a cut scene.
  6. You’ve got ten minutes to get off the sinking ship (How do they know it’ll sink in exactly ten minutes?).
  7. Climb up the ladder to your right. On your left there's an ammo box. Grab it and the pipes above you will explode.
  8. Run down the hallway and some Howlers will come out at you. You can ignore them and keep running for the most part.
  9. At the end of the walkway, turn left and shoot the barrel on top of the crate. When it explodes, head back the way you came. Stop halfway along the walkway where a box juts out into the water. The boxes in the middle of the area will form a path for you to go across.
  10. When you reach the other side, make two lefts. Grab the ammo box and charge the glaive on the sparking box. Then run back and take a right. Throw the charged glaive to open the door.
  11. Go through the door and turn right. Use the boxes to get to the walkway on the other side of the room.
  12. Go to the end of the walkway and turn left. Here, you have to throw your glaive into the electric box using afterTouch. Use the charged glaive to open the door closest to you.
  13. Follow the walkway in the next room across some boxes to a locked door. Here, you are attacked by some Moles.
  14. Make a left at the closed door.
  15. Follow the walkways until you reach another electric box. This time the box is behind two gates. Use afterTouch to guide the glaive through. When it’s charged, run back to the closed door, and use the glaive to open it.
  16. Go through the door and up the stairs. Stop and run up the second set of stairs bypassing the hallway in front of you. Here, you find an Upgrade Slots Upgrade. Now, you can turn around and head back down to the bypassed area.
  17. Run out to safety.

Chapter 6: The Bait

  1. There's a truck to your right that has an ammo box and some Rubles behind it, as well as a Black Market entrance ahead of you.
  2. TIP: The Black Market has some cool new stuff so buy what ever tickles you’re fancy.
  3. Through the gate, there's a tent on your right with an Accuracy Upgrade in it.
  4. TIP: If you go into the tent you're attacked by a Stinger. Use Steal to get it and deal with one less enemy (unless you’re into that kind of thing).
  5. Once you enter the area, you hear some hardcore, “I don’t want to deal with that,” growling. Those are Stingers coming to kill you. Stingers are Howlers that shoot fiery things at you.
  6. TIP: Using cover with these guys is important because they deal hefty damage, especially in groups.
  7. When the Stingers are dead, you'are attacked by some new Howlers. They’re stronger and they look a little different. However, they’re relatively the same deal as before.
  8. There are some ammo boxes and Rubles by the burning truck.
  9. Enter the large building on the right side of the area.
  10. Head around the hallway to the double doors and enter the large room.
  11. Go to the center of the room and look down the hole in the floor. Use your glaive on the shimmering pipe and the generator. The generator will catch of fire.
  12. If you go around the right side of the hole, you find an Enferon Shell Upgrade.
  13. Turn around and go down the hallway on the opposite side of the room. Here, you find an ammo box and some Rubles.
  14. Go back to the large room and light your glaive from the generator fire. Burn the black goop in your way.
  15. Turn left in the next room and there are some more Stingers. Afterwards, there's some ammo boxes as well as Rubles in the center of the room.
  16. Continue forward and down the stairs. Enter the large room with two levels. Here, you have some more Stingers, so again, take cover and let them have it.
  17. TIP: Don’t be fooled if the onslaught stops for a moment. They come at you two at a time until you’ve killed eight of them.
  18. Go through the door at the back of the room.
  19. Follow the hallway and you find a door that leads you to the next area.
  20. There's an ammo box on the table in front of you. Grab it and deal with the Stingers that come through the windows.
  21. You can find some Rubles on the left side of the room sitting on a bench.
  22. Vault out the window to the courtyard area where you are met by some more Stingers.
  23. TIP: Try not to let them get on top of you because they try to flank you.
  24. After the Stingers, you get some Howlers. Take them down and go through the door across the way where they came from.
  25. Go right or left, it doesn’t matter, in order to get to the next area. You are met at the entrance to the next area by some Howlers.
  26. Go into the room and take out the Stingers that become a threat. Then, someone will arrive to wipe the remaining ones out.

BOSS: Elite Trooper

  1. Let the trooper deal with the Stingers, but feel free to eliminate any threat to your safety. Don’t start shooting at the trooper until the Stingers are gone.
  2. In order to take him down, you need to hit his weak points. There's one on each of his shoulders and one on his back.
  3. Get into cover and watch out for his attacks.
  4. TIP: He has a machine gun and a rocket launcher attack. The rocket will kill you in one hit. Stay in cover and keep moving when he gets close to you. He moves slowly, so getting from cover to cover isn’t too hard, and remember that a direct glaive hit will stun him for a few seconds.
  5. In order to take out his weak points, throw the glaive at them and use afterTouch to help guide it in.
  6. TIP: It will take two hits from the glaive to get each point to spark/be destroyed (one if it’s a Power Throw).
  7. Once all three points have been smashed, you have to get close to him. Hit him in the face with the glaive and then get in there quickly to do a finisher.
  8. TIP: Be careful because if he melee’s you, you're dead in one hit.
  9. The finisher will kill the trooper.

Chapter 6 Contd.

  1. If you haven’t gotten it yet, there’s a Stopping Power Upgrade on the right side walkway.
  2. Go up the stairs at the back of the area and you find some Rubles on a table.
  3. Go to the hallway on the left side of the room. There’s an elevator there which is in need of electricity. Charge your glaive on the trooper’s corpse and use it to power the elevator.
  4. Get on the elevator to get a cut scene.

Chapter 7: Industrial Evolution

  1. Just down the hall, there's a Black Market entrance.
  2. TIP: There's some new things here like the Korbov TK6, which is the best rifle in the game.
  3. Continue down the hall and go down the steps. Enter the open area to your right where some Stingers are.
  4. TIP: There are some coolant tanks on your right. You can charge your glaive with ice using these, and keep looking for them because they appear throughout this level.
  5. Go through the door at the back of the area on the right. You come to a train and some more Stingers. There's a large refrigeration device shimmering on the train. Use this to freeze and kill the Stingers.
  6. There are some ammo boxes to the right of the entrance. Once you have them, go back past the entrance to the door on the left.
  7. Follow this hallway until you reach the next train area where there's more Howlers and Stingers to take care out.
  8. Go up the stairs to your right to grab a Fire Power Upgrade. Head towards the back of the area, and when you do you encounter a Chroma. This is much like a Stinger except its blue, it shoots blue things, and it can disappear. Shoot it and if it disappears, shoot where it was.
  9. Go up the stairs on the right and down the hallway into another train area.
  10. Take cover and deal with the Stingers. There's a refrigerator unit on the train again.
  11. Continue through the area and you encounter more Stingers and a Chroma.
  12. TIP: Just when you have to turn left, you can turn right to grab a Stopping Power Upgrade that lies between the trains on your right.
  13. Make the left and continue on killing all who stand in your way. You can grab an ammo box in the small room on the left.
  14. Exit through the door on the right. Here you encounter Howlers. Kill all of them and go out the door at the end of the hall.
  15. There's an ammo box on your right. Grab it and continue into the next room.
  16. Take cover as soon as you enter because there are Stingers here. Kill your way to the back of the area. Go down the stairs.
  17. In the next area, you're attacked by some Howlers. Kill them and proceed to the back of the area.
  18. Kill the Stingers here and go up the stairs.
  19. Go to the steps on the left and kill some more Stingers. Proceed down the steps and then through the corridor.
  20. Exit through the door on the left where troopers are being attacked by Howlers. Let them fight it out or join in, either way you’re not moving on until they’re all dead.
  21. Now an Elite Trooper enters the picture. Deal with him the same as last time. Take out his weak points with the glaive and afterTouch. Then glaive him until he turns red. Once that happens Stun him with the glaive, get in close, and do a finisher. He’s really not as hard to defeat as he looks because if you just keep using your glaive fast enough you essentially immobilize him.
  22. Up the stairs, you find a fence with a sparking box behind it. Charge your glaive on the corpse of the Elite Trooper. Then, use afterTouch to navigate the glaive over the fence to hit the box and open the gate.
  23. Head through the door to another area with a train. There's an Upgrade Slots Upgrade on a walkway above you. Find the walkway at the edge of the building and use Steal to grab it.
  24. Go left down the tunnel, which will take you to the next area.
  25. Once you’ve gone around the bend, you are attacked by Stingers and Chromas. Take cover and use the refrigerator system and cooling tanks to help you take them out.
  26. You can find a Puncture upgrade by the cooling tanks to your right.
  27. Charge the glaive with ice and throw it at the fire next to the train. For some reason, the fire goes out and opens a path, which you should follow.
  28. A short distance down the tunnel, you have to hit B to push a cart out of your way. Then, go up the stairs on the right.
  29. Follow the walkway and listen for the noises. When you reach a pipe on your right, you're attacked and a button mash promt appears. As long as you do it in time, you're fine.
  30. Continue to follow the walkway until you reach a spot with a room ahead and stairs to your left. The room has a Black Market Entrance, but there’s nothing new. Go down the steps and follow the tracks.
  31. You come to another set of stairs on your right. Head up the stairs and on your right you encounter some Stingers.
  32. Cross the tracks to where the Stingers where and head down the tunnel on the left.
  33. Follow the tunnel and you come to another cart you have to push out of the way. Then, you encounter a turret firing on Stingers.
  34. TIP: There are a few carts that you can push forward and use for cover as you advance. There are also Rubles on the ground in front of the turret.
  35. Make your way up the stairs on the right side of the area. Hop the two fences behind the turret.
  36. Man the new turret. You are attacked by a mass of Stingers, so kill them all with the turret.
  37. TIP: Remember that the turret is in the open, so take cover if necessary. It's common for one of them to get by you, especially those dropping in from the walkway to your right, so keep an eye out.
  38. Afterwards, you're able to grab some Rubles and an ammo box from behind one of the pillars on the right. At the back left is a Clip Extender Upgrade that you can use Steal to get.
  39. The exit for the area is on the upper walkway. There's a hallway to the right which leads to large double doors. Go through them to reach the next area.
  40. Go forward and you find an ammo box. Just beyond that is a valve next to some steps. Turn the valve and water from the ceiling turns into an ice column next to the refrigerator tank on the left.
  41. TIP: Throughout this area you can turn water to ice with a frozen glaive, which makes cover for yourself as you deal with the troopers here.
  42. Shortly after you enter the area, you encounter another Elite Trooper. This is the same as before. Take out the weak spots, then stun him with your glaive, and get close to do a finisher.
  43. Afterwards, freeze the glaive. Use it to put out the fire at the back of the area because it’s blocking your way. There's an ammo box to your left just after you put out the fire.
  44. Just a bit farther down, on the left, there are some Rubles. Continue down the Tunnel. Find an area with a large cooling tank on the right and a pool of water on the left. Freeze the glaive with the cooling tank and use it to freeze the pool of water.
  45. Cross the ice and step up onto the walkway on the other side.
  46. Go through the door at the end of the walkway.
  47. Follow the hallway and go down the steps. There's an ammo box right in front of you by the flames.
  48. There are steps to your right leading to the train tracks. When you go down the steps, you're attacked by Howlers.
  49. Stay to the left and don’t go to far down the tunnel. When the train comes, duck out of the way to your left. As long as you avoid the pillars, there's room, and the train will take out the remaining Howlers.
  50. Follow the tracks to find an ammo box on the walkway to your left.
  51. A bit further down the tunnel opens into a larger area where you have some Stingers to deal with.
  52. Once you've killed everyone, a train will leave, which opens up a path for you to cross the tracks.
  53. Across the tracks there are more Stingers to deal with.
  54. Go down the steps on the other side and you find a Black Market entrance.
  55. TIP: There’s still nothing new there, but you can always upgrade a weapon with an Upgrade Slots Upgrade.
  56. Go up the stairs on your right and go outside.
  57. Here, you can grab a Double Shot Upgrade from underneath the truck on the right. Head up the stairs to enter the building.
  58. Inside, you encounter a strange create, but you won’t have to fight it…yet. Once it leaves, you have some Stingers, Howlers, and a Chroma to deal with so take cover. The Howlers and the Chroma will come at you from the side you’re on, but the Stingers are across the way.
  59. Go through the door on the left side of the room. Deal with the Howlers that attack in the hallway.
  60. Follow the hallway until you reach a large generator room.
  61. Proceed until you reach the stairs. Look left at the top of the stairs. Across the way is a Stopping Power Upgrade that you can Steal.
  62. Go down the steps. Here, you encounter more Stingers and another Chroma. Make your way through the room to take out the oncoming enemies. The room directly ahead has an ammo box in it.
  63. Follow the path through the room and go up the steps between the generators. There are Rubles to the left and, to the right, is a doorway to the next area.
  64. Follow the hallway and you come to another large room. Directly in front of you and down the steps is a valve to turn. By now, you should have some Stingers and Chromas in the area. Use the large cooling container on the left to turn the water to ice for cover.
  65. Make your way through the room, turning right at the halfway point, and kill anything that stands in your way.
  66. At the other end of the room is a door that leads to some stairs leading down.
  67. Head down the steps to you find an ammo box. Just beyond that is a Black Market entrance.
  68. TIP: There’s still nothing new, but you have a boss battle coming up. It makes it so much easier to have a high powered weapon, such as a Korbov TK6, with an Enferon Shell Upgrade. Just a suggestion, but it helps like you have no idea.
  69. Continue past the Black Market and you find three more ammo boxes.
  70. Go through the door at the end of the area.

BOSS: Stalker

  • YouTube:
  1. The Stalker will shift all the time. This means that he’s invisible. He becomes visible only when he attacks you, and when he does this he’s in your face.
  2. TIP: Keep an eye on the water because it’ll splash, which gives away his location.
  3. Shoot the splashing areas and when they reach you, dive out of the way of his attacks.
  4. Shoot him relentlessly while he’s visible.
  5. TIP: You can also use the freezing canisters on each side of the room to charge the glaive. When he becomes visible, you can throw it at his feet, which will freeze him in place for a few seconds giving you a chance to shoot or glaive him.
  6. After a while, you can no longer see the splashes of his feet, but you can hear the Stalker. It’s the same deal, except you have to utilize sound to dive out of the way of his attacks.
  7. TIP: If you where able to deal a lot of damage during the first part of the battle this part of the battle is sometimes bypassed, hence the Korbov TK6 with Enferon Shell Upgrade.
  8. When he’s taken enough hits, he runs up one of the columns in the area. Shoot him when he does this then he disappears.
  9. Prepare for the Stalker to reappear, and when he does, he has explosive projectiles.
  10. TIP: These projectiles will kill you instantly. When he shows up, use your shield and shoot him.
  11. He retreats and comes back a few times. Repeat your actions and he eventually glows red. Get in close and do a finisher.

Chapter 7 Contd.

  1. When you've killed him you get Shift, which allows you to turn invisible.
  2. TIP: If you do any actions besides walk, sprint, and dodge you become visible again. It also allows you to sneak up on enemies and do a finisher. There's a secret achievement called Ghost, which can be unlocked by using Shift to sneak up on an enemy and perform a finisher.
  3. Head towards the area with the windows and doors. The doors will close when you get close. You have to use Shift to sneak inside so the camera won't see you.
  4. Once inside, head up the stairs that are straight ahead.
  5. Open the doors to get a cut scene.

Chapter 8: Unnatural History

  1. Go outside the room where there's a Howler feasting. Kill him and then more will attack.
  2. There's an ammo box in the center of the room.
  3. Go through the double doors and hang a left, but if you want it there is an ammo box at the end of the hall behind the gurneys.
  4. TIP: There are radios here that give some back story.
  5. Go to the back of the room and to the door on the right. Here, you are attacked by three Howlers.
  6. In the hallway, the first room on the right will have an Accuracy Upgrade in it.
  7. Proceed down the hallway. Turn left into the shower room where you encounter Howlers.
  8. Grab the ammo box at the back of the room before exiting through the door on the left.
  9. Follow the hallway and you encounter more Howlers and Stingers as well.
  10. Just past the enemies, there's a door to the left with an ammo box. Then. go through the door on the right.
  11. Go to the back of the room and back out into the hall.
  12. Proceed through the open double doors and head to the stairs. At the top of the stairs, there's and ammo box on the left.
  13. Go down the steps and open the door to the next area.
  14. Follow the hallway to some stairs on the left. There's an ammo box behind the table on the steps that you can Steal.
  15. Proceed into the next area and you're met by a large number of Stingers and Chromas. Most of them are in the lower area while you’re upstairs.
  16. Make your way around the top of the area. Go past the turret to the stairs.
  17. TIP: There are a large number of enemies here, so stay in cover and don’t be fooled by the turret. When you get to the turret most of the enemies are in cover and you're exposed.
  18. Past the turret are stairs leading down. The steps allow you to take enemies out from a closer position, but be careful because they’ll try to flank you.
  19. When you've killed them, go to the circular desk area to grab a Clip Extender Upgrade and an ammo box. The room to the right will have another ammo box.
  20. There's a door just behind the circular desk, which you need an electrically charged glaive to open.
  21. To the left of the door there's an opening to another room. You cannot enter this room, but you can throw your glaive in and, using afterTouch, navigate it around the corner to a sparking electrical box. Once it’s charged, head back to the door and throw the glaive at it to open it.
  22. Just through the door, there's a turret. Throw the glaive at the turret to disable it. There’s a Chroma in here to deal with. Kill him and get on the elevator at the back of the room.
  23. Go towards the door that’s dead ahead. When you do, an alarm sounds. Duck in the room on the right until it turns off. Enter into Shift, go back out, and into the previously closed room.
  24. In this room, there are lasers going back and forth. Navigate the lasers and don’t let them touch you. Then exit the room.
  25. TIP: If you use your shield it will deflect the lasers.
  26. In the next room, you're attacked by Howlers. Exit out the door that they came through.
  27. In this room, there are two turrets and some charging Howlers. Don’t run past the turrets just yet. Let the Howlers run through and shoot them as they do. When you've killed them, Shift and run past the turrets to the door on the other side.
  28. There's an ammo box on a shelf to your right.
  29. Go left to another laser room. Navigate them slowly and Shift when you reach the door on the other side to open it.
  30. TIP: Using your shield will, again, deflect the lasers.
  31. In this room, you're attacked by some Chromas. Take them out as they come at you while following the walkway. There are some tables to the left with a Fire Power Upgrade on them.
  32. Go out the door at the back of the room.
  33. Go down the stairs and into the hallway to get a cut scene.
  34. TIP: You now have Proto-Armor, which means you can take more damage, you’re immune to Enferon gas, and your glaive is more powerful.
  35. Go through the door in the next room to deal with another room full of Chromas. Try not to let them get on top of you as they can come from all sides. Grab the Reload Speed Upgrade on the left side of the room.
  36. Go to the door at the back of the room and grab the ammo box to the right before exiting.
  37. In the next room, there's an ammo box in front of you and a few more Chromas getting killed to your left.
  38. There are turrets killing the Chromas. Use the sparking box to charge your glaive. Throw it down the hall using afterTouch to navigate it into the turrets, which should disable them.
  39. Take out any troopers in your way and hop over the sand bags.
  40. At the back right of the room, you find a Power Throw ammo box. Through the door on the right you can grab an Enferon Shell Upgrade and another ammo box. Through the door on the left side you can find another ammo box behind one of the shelves.
  41. Get on the elevator to end the chapter.

Chapter 9: Threshold Guardian

  1. Head out the door in front of you and slide down the wall. There's a Black Market entrance right next to you when you hit the ground.
  2. TIP: Nothing new, but you can always do upgrades.
  3. Around the corner, there's some grenades and three piles of Rubles to the right side.
  4. Go to the locked gate behind you. Power Throw it open in order to continue on.
  5. Deal with the troopers that appear. Afterwards, move forward and take cover again because more troopers appear. Keep an eye out for the enemies in the arches in front of you.
  6. Before leaving, grab the ammo boxes on the right side of the area.
  7. Go up the wooden walkway on the left side of the area. Proceed into the arches. Some more troopers show up in the area ahead of you and two of them are Maulers.
  8. At the back of the area, you can find a Fire Rate Upgrade and ammo box to your left. On the right, you can find two piles of Rubles on some steps.
  9. Head up the stirs in the middle of the area.
  10. Take a left through the door to encounter another Elite Trooper. Take him down the same as always: weak points, stun, and finisher.
  11. TIP: This is the smallest area you’ve ever fought an Elite Trooper in, but you can also use Shift to help you.
  12. Afterwards, grab the two ammo boxes across the way.
  13. Charge your glaive on the corpse of the Elite Trooper. Throw the glaive at the sparking box down the hall on the right, which causes the door open.
  14. TIP: You're able to pick up the Elite Troopers gun thanks to the Proto-Armor. RT fires the machine gun and RB fires the rockets. When you want to drop it, just hit a button to switch to another weapon.
  15. Go through the open door and you’re met by a lot of enemies. Shoot them all with your new gun.
  16. TIP: If you run out of rockets, there's another gun flashing on your right when you enter the area.
  17. There are troopers above and below you, but if you stand back a ways, the ones below you aren’t a problem. Use your rockets for the ones up top that are far off, as it’s the most effective way to get them, but try and save a few for later.
  18. TIP: You can’t actually take cover while holding the Elite Trooper’s weapon, but try and stay behind something out of harm's way. There are a lot of enemies here and it’s easy to die. If you’re about to die, drop the gun and dive into cover until your health returns.
  19. A helicopte drops more enemies off on the roof top across the way. Take them out with the rockets.
  20. After the rooftop bunch, you get some more enemies to your right.
  21. Head to the right and follow the path around to the other side. Here, you encounter a Mauler and a trooper. Take them down and go into the open doorway.
  22. Take an Elite Trooper gun with you and open the door to the next area.
  23. You're met by a few Howlers. Mow them down with the gun and move forward through the area.
  24. Go across the bridge. When you do, stop and look over the left side to see a boat against the shore. Steal the Fire Power Upgrade from the boat.
  25. TIP: If you got all the upgrades you receive an achievement.
  26. Continue through the area, blowing away howlers as you go. Vault over the sand bags when you reach them. Here, you find the last Black Market entrance in the game.
  27. TIP: If you haven’t gotten the Greed achievement, sell all the upgrades and weapons you don’t need. You should have no problem getting enough money. This is also the last chance to upgrade any weapons, so do that as well.
  28. Pick up the Rubles and the ammo box. Turn around and continue down the alley.
  29. Power Throw the gate open. Pick up the Elite Trooper gun and keep on walking.
  30. Go left around the first corner. There's a left and a right turn in front of you. A left turn gets you two ammo boxes. The right turn leads to a walkway and a cut scene.
  31. After the quick scene, there's two Elite Troopers to deal with.
  32. TIP: If you saved some rockets from earlier, you can stun them with a rocket and then blast away at their weak points. If not, you can do things old school, but that’s kind of difficult. If you do go old school, concentrate on which ever one takes the lead. When he's down, try and grab his gun to take out the other one. You can also charge your glaive on the corpse of the first trooper and electrocute the other one. There are also some regular troopers around, so watch out for them.
  33. After the Elite Troopers, grab their weapons to take out the rest of the troopers in the area.
  34. Cross the bridge, if you haven’t already, and deal with any Howlers that charge you.
  35. Go to your right and up the stairs. Hang another right at the top of the steps.
  36. Continue forward and deal with any troopers that come at you. There are a few enemies down the steps to your right. Keep an eye out on the walkways above you for even more goons. There's also a turret, but it’s not a problem with the Elite Trooper gun.
  37. There's black goop blocking your way on the ladder to the left. Use the fire in the area to light the glaive and burn away the goop.
  38. TIP: You drop the Elite Trooper gun when you climb the ladder and there’s nothing you can do about it.
  39. At the top, there's an ammo box to your left. Follow the walkway and deal with any troopers that pop out. There's a Mauler and a turret to keep an eye on.
  40. Make your way to the sand bags. Kill all the troopers and head to your left. Get close to the door and you automatically enter the next area.
  41. Go right past the lifeless Jackals.
  42. Enter the the door, and go into the next room where you encounter the Nemesis.

BOSS: Nemesis

  1. You can’t hurt him right now, so don’t waste your time.
  2. He charges you with his huge blade. When he does this, dive out of the way.
  3. TIP: If he throws his blade at you, which is rare, dive out of the way because the thrown blade is an instant death. Sometimes, when he charges, there's a button prompt that you can follow to deflect his attacks.
  4. The Nemesis eventually gets electrified. When this happens he throws his electrified blade at you. Dodge his throw and charge your glaive on his blade.
  5. Hit him twice with the electrified glaive and his shield goes down.
  6. When his shield is down, you need to hit him with the glaive one more time. When you hit him, he glows red. Get close to perform a button mash finisher.
  7. TIP: If you don’t hit him, the electrified blade is thrown again and you have to repeat your actions to get his shields down once more.
  8. After you do the finisher, he jumps up to a ledge. From the ledge, he just stands there throwing his electrified blade at you. When he does, dodge it and charge your glaive on the blade.
  9. Throw the galive at him. Use afterTouch to guide it under his shield, where you can hit him in the legs. When this occurs, he jumps down.
  10. The battle repeats itself from the beginning. Do everything three times and the Nemesis goes down.

Chapter 9 Contd.

  1. After the cut scene, jump in the Jackal in front of you. It’s already damaged and smoking. so be careful with it.
  2. TIP: If this Jackal doesn’t make it, there’s another one you can grab just past you on the right.
  3. Continue down the path, killing all the troopers in your way. Use your cannon to blast open the gate. It will take two shots to get it open.
  4. In this area, kill the troopers as you move forward and watch out for the two troopers with rocket launchers.
  5. TIP: Remember to hit Y and use your countermeasures when you hear the beeping of an impending rocket.
  6. Make your way through this area to another gate. It takes two shots from the cannon to blast open.
  7. In this next area, there are more troopers with have rocket launchers.
  8. TIP: The ones on ledges are pretty far off when you first enter, so use the cannon to take them down. Take corners slowly so you don’t get bombarded by rockets.
  9. Look to the bridge around the corner. Take out two more troopers with rocket launchers before they fire on you.
  10. Blow open the gate on the right side of the area.
  11. Exit the Jackal and go through the open gate.
  12. At the back of this place, there's a ledge you have to jump down, which ends the chapter.

Chapter 10: The Dark Sector

  1. Go down the hill into the camp area. When you reach the back of the area, you get a cut scene.
  2. After the cut scene, grab some cover. Enemies will surround you.
  3. TIP: Your cover may not be as secure as you think. Keep an eye out and kill all immediate threats.
  4. When you've killed them, go into the tunnel.
  5. Turn right when the area opens up and climb the ladder by the sparking electric box.
  6. Go into the room on the right and press the red button on the console. This opens the large door in front of you.
  7. Climb back down the ladder and head into the open door.
  8. Go up the steps on the left and follow the walkway. You're attacked by Chromas and Stingers when the tunnel opens to a larger area. Grab the various ammo boxes scattered around the room as you kill enemies.
  9. Get to the elevator on the left side of the room. Once you hit B, it takes 60 seconds for the elevator to show up. While you wait, you're attacked by Chromas and Stingers.
  10. TIP: It’s really easy to just keep shifting and doing finishers rather than try to kill them all.
  11. When the elevator arrives, ride it down to the next room.
  12. Go down the hallway on the right (the door to the left is locked) and follow it to a larger area. Hit the red button on the console at the back of the room.
  13. Back track to the elevator. There's an open door across from the elevator. You get a cut scene when you go through the door.
  14. Follow the tunnel to a door, which leads to the next area.
  15. Go forward down the tunnel on the left. Continue on to the final boss.

FINAL BOSS: Mezner

  1. This starts with three tentacles in front of Mezner.
  2. TIP: They throw rocks at you, so just dive out of the way or shoot them down. If they lunge at you, dodge that as well. Also avoid the green gas that they occasionally spew. Don’t get to close or the tentacles will grab you. You can get out of the grab with a button prompt, but it’s easier to keep your distance.
  3. Electrify the glaive from the electric conduit above Mezner.
  4. Hit each of the tentacles on one of their glowing green spots. When you do this, their "mouths" open up.
  5. Charge the glaive again and throw it into their mouths, which disables the tentacle. Do this to all three of them.
  6. After this, the screen goes yellow when Mezner gets in your head. Use the charged glaive and Power Throw it at Mezner.
  7. TIP: If you don’t stop him within a few seconds you're dead. It's hard to time the Power Throw when you only have a few seconds to get it right. If you throw the glaive in combination with shooting him relentlessly, it works just as well.
  8. The next part of the battle has two more tentacles and some Howlers who will constantly attack. Try to ignore the Howlers and take out the tentacles the same as the last time.
  9. Mezner will again get into your head after these tentacles are down. It’s the same as before, hit him with a charged Power Throw or shoot him with a powerful gun before you die.
  10. In the last part of the battle, there are five tentacles.
  11. TIP: They now shoot fireballs. There are also small tentacles that come out of the ground. You can deal with these small tentalces through a button prompt or you die in a few short seconds.
  12. Take out the tentacles the same way as before while trying to dodge the fireballs.
  13. Mezner will try to control your mind one last time when the tentacles go down. Throw the glaive at him to end the battle.
