Danava

Known for their exceedingly powerful live performances, Danava has been described as a band who arrived from the 1970's with their classic rock sound.

Dusty Sparkles and Buck Rothy met in Illinois in 1994. They worked on several unreleased projects and eventually parted ways. They reunited in 2002 and moved to Portland, Oregon. Rothy had previously formed the band Princess Sweepstakes along with current band member Dell Blackwell who joined with Rothy and Sparkles to form Danava. The band was officially founded in 2003 as well as added a fourth member, Rosy Cross.

The band created their first demo and then began touring with Glass Candy. The band eventually replaced cross with Rockwell and they went on to sign with Kemado Records in 2006. Shortly after signing with their new lable, the group released their self-titled debut album, Danava and toured with Witchcraft.

The band felt that they had rushed their first album but are very confident with their second album UnonoU which was released in March of 2008. The band stated that they had more time to experiment with this album than with their first.
