NHL Career

Boyle entered the NHL by signing as a free agent with the Florida Panthers on March 30, 1998. He made his NHL debut that same year and split his first three seasons between the Panthers and their American Hockey League affiliates, the Kentucky Thoroughblades and the Louisville Panthers. On January 7, 2002, Boyle was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He helped the team win the Stanley Cup Championship in 2004, then played with the Djurgardens IF Stockholm in Sweden during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. Following the lockout, Boyle returned to the Lightning and has twice renewed his contract with the team. The most recent contract was signed on February 25, 2008 and will keep him with the franchise for six years.
