Cruel Intentions
Cruel Intentions is an American drama, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair and Sean Patrick Thomas. It is an adaptation of the book Les Liaisons Dangereuses set in modern day New York City and played by a teenage cast.

Plot
Cruel Intentions follows a group of high school students as they struggle with popularity and trying to fit in. One of the more popular girl, Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) takes a very naive and innocent classmate, Cecile Caldwell (Selma Blair) under her wing, promising to make her fit into the popular scene. Her motives are in actuality to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend who has left her for Cecile. She attempts to corrupt Cecile and make her sleep with as many boys as possible, humiliating her and her ex-boyfriend. Kathryn works with her womanizing step-brother, Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) to attempt and corrupt Cecile. Sebastian is focused on a different girl, Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon) who is the virgin beauty and daughter of the new headmaster of their school. Sebastian eventually falls in love with Annette, only to be rejected due to his past.
