Couple Married 83 Years

Minnesota couple, Mayme and Clarence Vail, will be added to the
Guinness Book of World Records for their 83-year marriage. They have been married longer than any other living couple. They married in 1925 at St. John the Baptist Church in Hugo, Minnesota. Clarence Vail was 18-years-old and Mayme was 16-years-old.
TODAYShow.com reports: Mayme Vail said, "You take your vows, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer. I guess you just stick to it, come what may."
TODAYShow.com reports: When asked if he ever considered divorce, Clarence Vail said, "I don't remember."
According to The Catholic Spirit', the official publication for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis: Mayme Vail promised to go to church every day in 1948 when her husband was diagnosed with tuberculosis. She attended mass daily for 60 years.
