Early Years

The franchise was originally granted in 1999 in Orlando, Florida as part of the Orlando Magic organization. They played in Orlando for their first three seasons, until the team was sold to casino owners Mohegan Sun on January 28, 2003. Mohegan Sun moved the team to Uncasville, Connecticut for the start of the 2004 regular season.
