Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets play in the Central Division of the NHL's Western Conference. Coached by Ken Hitchcock, the team plays home games at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Through the 2007-08 season, the Blue Jackets have never appeared in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

History
After failed attempts to bring hockey back to Columbus, the NHL awarded the city a franchise in 1997, after Nationwide announced plans to fund a new arena. The team played their first game in 2000. Although a variety of top players have donned the Blue Jackets jersey, including Rick Nash, Sergei Fedorov, Pascal Leclaire, R.J. Umberger, Adam Foote and Ray Whitney, the team has never qualified for the playoffs.
