Guide Note
Colorado College is a private institution of higher learning that is located in the downtown area of Colorado Springs, Colorado at the foot of Pikes Peak along the front range of the Rocky Mountains. As a Liberal Arts college, Colorado College boasts an undergraduate enrollment of about 2,000 students each year. Founded by General William Palmer in 1874, the college is one of the premiere academic institutions in the region.

The Block Plan
Academic classes at Colorado College are organized by a unique system called The Block Plan. Under the system, students attend a single class at time for one month. The academic year is divided up into eight "Blocks", each of which are separated by a five day "Block Break" in which students are allowed to take a rest between classes.
