Early Life

Clay Daniel Buchholz was born in Nederland, Texas on August 14, 1984. In his youth he would attend Lumberton High School. In High School, he would be arrested for stealing 29 laptops and and then selling them to make money. He would move from the unfortunate incident to attend McNees State University. Later he would transfer to Angelina College.

Pro Career

Buchholz was drafted by the Red Sox with the 42nd pick in the 2005 Draft. Buchholz would make his major league debut on August 17, 2007. He would win his first game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In his second start he would surpass his excellent debut by pitching a no hitter against the Baltimore Orioles. He would be the first Red Sox player ever to pitch a no-hitter in his rookie season. In 2008, Buchholz would be named to the starting rotation of the Boston Red Sox.
