Chocolate-Coconut Bars
Ingredients
- 3 cups finely ground cookies such as chocolate wafers
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup pecan pieces
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
Directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 15 x 10 inch baking sheet with wax paper. Stir in a large bowl the cookie crumbs, sugar, and butter and combine. Take mixture and press on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 20 minutes and then sprinkle with pecans and chocolate. Pour the condensed milk over the top and top with coconut. Place sheet back in the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
