Brief Biography

Cales sank into depression and alcoholism after the deaths of two of her children, one in a house fire in 1982, and one in a crib death in 1987. Cales spent time in and out of psychiatric hospitals and would often disappear for weeks at a time. Cales divorced her husband in 1990. In 1998, Cales left for church, but never returned.
