A Troubled Career
Chris Henry was drafted by the Bengals in 2005 as the 83rd overall pick. Over the next two seasons, Henry became a solid third receiver behind Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Although Henry had success on the field, his legal troubles began to interfere with his football career. Henry has been arrested multiple times since December of 2005. Henry was suspended for the first 8 games of the 2007 season after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy and was warned that future violations could result in his career being over.1
On April 2, 2008, Henry was charged with misdemeanor assault and property damage. He was waived by the Bengals the following day. After charges were dropped against Henry, the Bengals re-signed him on August 18 to fill holes in a banged up receiver core.1
