Guide Note

Lonely Planet says the Hotel Eldorado is "one of Paris' greatest finds." This hotel has 40 rooms and most are ethnically-themed. Ask for room 16 or 17 when booking your room, they have balconies for you to step out on and enjoy the view. All though there are no TV's, phones or a elevator, this hotel is perfect for those traveling on a budget.

Another great budget hotel is the Hotel Chopin. This 36 room hotel is located just 10 minutes from the Opera and major department stores and boutiques. Visit the breakfast room in the morning and enjoy a breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice before you spend the day sightseeing.

Hostels

Hostels are a great place for backpackers or groups of people traveling together who really want to save on hotels. Lonely Planet recommends staying at the Le Village, they have 25 rooms with four to six beds, each room also has its own bathroom with shower. Another great hostel Lonely Planet recommends is the Bureau des Voyages de la Jeunesse, this 100 bed hostel comes with showers and phones in each dorm room, bathrooms are down the hall. Visitors should be under the age of 35. Hostel does not have kitchen facilities, there is a TV room and a work out room for those needing to keep in shape.
