Charles Sobhraj
Charles Sobhraj is a confessed serial killer who has managed to elude prosecution for most of his suspected crimes. Sobhraj is thought to have committed 12 to 24 murders throughout Asia in the 1970s.1

Prosecution
Though Sobhraj has admitted to three murders, they do not include the one for which he has been convicted: the 1975 killing of a tourist in Nepal. He was found guilty of the murder in 2004, and is currently in a Nepalese prison serving a life term.1
Engagement
According to reports in July 2008, Sobhraj was engaged to marry Nihita Biswas, a Nepalese woman 44 years his junior.1 The pair met through Sobhraj's lawyer, and planned to marry in France, pending an appeal for release with the Nepal Supreme Court.1
