Charles Riechers
Charles Riechers, the number two acquisition official for the U.S. Air Force, was found dead in his home in an apparent suicide. Riechers became the deputy assistant secretary for acquisition in January 2007. His hire was mired in controversy after the Washington Post reported that the Air Force gave Riechers a $13,400 a month job at the Commonwealth Research Institute while he waited for his confirmation for the Air Force post to proceed. Riechers admitted that he performed no work for CRI.
