The cavalier king Charles spaniel is a small dog with a wavy, silky coat of moderate length and long ears. They are highly affectionate, playful and patient and are good with children and other dogs.

Health
The cavalier king Charles spaniel is
prone to syringomyelia, a disorder in which a cyst forms within the spinal cord and hereditary eye disease, dislocating kneecaps (patella), hip dysplasia, back problems, ear infections, hearing trouble or early deafness, heart disease and obesity.1
Grooming
Use a firm bristle brush to comb out the cavalier king Charles spaniel. Bath regularly making sure that the coat is thoroughly dry after bathing. The hair in the ears are prone to tangling and should be removed to help prevent ear infections. The cavalier is an average shedder.2
