Guide Note:Carlos Trujillo and his cousin,
Leonard Trujillo were arrested for the 2006 stabbing death of
Connecticut real-estate developer
Andrew Kissel. Kissel was found tied up and stabbed to death in his Greenwich home on April 3, 2006. Leonard has been charged with the actual stabbing, while Carlos, Kissel's chauffeur, has been charged with conspiracy. At the time of his death, Kissel was under investigation for real estate fraud; and sources have speculated that Leonard may have been hired as a hit-man by Carlos, at Kissel's request, so that Kissel's daughters would receive his life insurance benefits. Carlos Trujillo was interviewed several times shortly after the murder, and maintains his innocence.
