Camryn Jakeb Wilson
Camryn Jakeb Wilson of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died less than three months after his birth on New Year's Day, 2008. Wilson's father, Craig R. Wilson, was arrested and charged with murder in his infant son's death. Craig Wilson, who has pleaded not guilty, reportedly confessed to police that he shook and squeezed the child violently after an argument with his wife. Wilson's trial was set for September 2008.1 2

Shaken Baby Syndrome
According to The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome, approximately 1,200 to 1,400 infants are injured or killed each year as the result of shaken baby syndrome. The center says 25% of the babies die from their injuries and 80% of those who survive suffer permanent disability, including brain damage and mental retardation.4
