Cooking over a campfire is a vital part of camping. Campfire cooking can mean constructing a grill over an open flame, using utensils like skewers to roast marshmallows or hot dogs, or burying a dutch oven in coals while your supper cooks away inside. Aluminum foil packets are a common way to use the heat of a fire to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner while on a camping trip.

Exercise caution around open flames and keep fats and oils out of the fire.
