Cairo

Guide Note
Cairo, meaning the vanquiser in Arabic, is the capital and largest city in Egypt. The city was founded in the year 969 AD and throughout its existence has been the center of Egyptian activity. It's located on the Nile River and is slightly west of the Giza desert. Of the 80 million or more people that live in Egypt, over a quarter reside in this massive city.
Most visitors, come to see the 136,000 artifacts that are found in one of the many Cairo museums or they make way to the ancient shopping area, Khan El-Khalili, which is said to be one of the most entertaining places to visit. Another attraction not to be missed is the Cairo Tower, a free standing TV tower, which is a 187 meters high and built of solid concrete.
