Guide Note: The New York Times reported in April 2008, that CBS is in discussions with Time Warner to outsource some of it's news gathering operations to the cable news network, CNN. CBS executives have since downplayed the rumor. Over the last 10 years, CNN has engaged in periodic talks with both ABC News and CBS News about joint ventures. CBS, which had previously been a leader in news reporting, has been stuck in last place behind other networks, NBC and CBS.
