Television network C-SPAN features original public affairs programs and provides 24-hour coverage of government proceedings. Much of the network's programing is focused on live coverage of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Organization

C-SPAN is operated as a non-profit subsidiary of the National Cable Satellite Corporation. The network does not solicit or accept advertising, and is primarily funded through subscription fees to cable and satellite operators. C-SPAN retains exclusive rights to all of its recordings.
