Burnout Dominator
Burnout Dominator is the sixth game in the Burnout series, available for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. Several changes were made to this game, including the elimination of Crash Mode. However, the basic premise of the game remained the same; players drive cars at fast speeds around several cities causing as much damage as possible. This game in the series was not developed by Criterion Software, as it was believed they were working on Burnout Paradise at the time. The game received an average rating by video game critics.
Game Modes:
The main feature in Burnout Dominator is the World Tour. The mode is split into seven different series, based on the various vehicles. Among the challenges in the game:
- Race Mode: Much like a regular race, intentional crashing is discouraged.
- Road Rage: A timed race where the goal is to take out as many opponents as possible.
- Eliminator: Much like Race Mode. After every 30 seconds, the player in last is eliminated.
- Burning Lap: A one-lap time trial.
- Maniac Mode: Players must create as much havoc as possible.
- Drift Challenge: Players try to earn as many points as possible by drifting on the course.
- Near Miss Challenge: The goal is to come as close to vehicles as possible without creating a collision.
- Burnout Challenge: Much like the Drift Challenge, but the goal is to perform the most burnouts as possible.
