Bruno Mossad

Sacha Baron Cohen, while in the persona of the character Bruno, tricked former Mossad agent and Israeli consultant Yossi Alpher into sitting for an interview ostensibly devoted to the subject of the Israeli and Palestinian relations.

Bruno's Interview

During the interview, Bruno asked Alpher and his Palestinian counterpart a series of ridiculous questions concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Bruno confused Hamas with hummus, and asked why the Jews refused to return the pyramids. Alpher, who wrote about the encounter in The Jewish Daily Forward, said that Cohen had exploited "our tragic and painful conflict in the most cynical and deceptive manner."¹
