Guide Note: Bruce McGill is an American television and film actor. He was born July 11, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas.

In his career, Bruce McGill has appeared in more than 60 motion pictures. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas in drama, and appeared in a number of theatrical productions.

Bruce McGill began his career on stage with the National Shakespeare Company in Washington, DC. In 1977 he appeared in his first role in a motion picture, Handle with Care. After this film he played one of his more notable roles in 1978s National Lampoon's Animal House. He has appeared in a variety of television shows also, such as: MacGyver, Walker, Texas Ranger, Miami Vice and Quantum Leap. He has appeared in a number of movies directed by Michael Mann.

McGill has portrayed the roles of a lawyer, a district attorney, a sheriff, a golf legend, a baseball manager, and a judge. In 1987, he portrayed Ernest Hemingway in the movie Waiting for the Moon. In 2005, McGill played the part of a boxing fight promoter in the movie Cinderella Man. In 2007, McGill was cast in the TV series Bionic Woman as a high ranking operative. In August of 2008, he will appear in the movie The Perfect Game which is a true story of a little league baseball team from Mexico.
