Guide Note:On March 21, 2008, sources reported that Britney Spears is planning to open her own dance studio, called "The Basement." Spears has been teaching a class of children at the dance studio, "The Millennium," in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, and reportedly says that she would like to have a studio of her own. Spears was a gymnast as a child, competing in state-level championships in Mississippi, and performed in local dance revues before joining the cast of The New Mickey Mouse Club, at age 11, in 1993.
