Family Background
Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi. Her parents are former building contractor James Spears and former school teacher Lynne Spears. She has two siblings, Bryan Spears and actress Jamie Lynn Spears.
After her much publicized relationship with Justin Timberlake and a brief marriage to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander, Spears announced that she was marrying former back-up dancer Kevin Federline. After giving birth to two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, Spears filed for a divorce from Federline in 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.
Personal Troubles
2007-08 hasn't been easy for Spears. After a short stint in Rehab, Spears was ordered to submit to random drug tests and parenting classes in order to continue receiving custody of her two children. After losing custody of her children to Federline in late 2007, Spears was hospitalized for undisclosed medical reasons and held for a complete psychiatric evaluation. While Britney has reclaimed limited visitation rights of her children, her daily activities and antics have become a staple of tabloid news shows, magazines and blogs.
