Brian Havel
Brian Havel is a 22 year old Delta High School teacher who is facing charges of child abuse for encouraging students to hit another student who showed up late for class.
Supposedly, the student showed up late for class and Havel then told him to do 100 push ups. The student was unable to do so, so the other students offered an alternative punishment: to be able to punch him. About 15 students were then allowed to punch him.
The student has been identified and did not suffer any serious injuries and did not required medical assistance.
Havel has resigned and is no longer working for the school. He is due in court on April 30, 2008.
