Former University of Maryland assistant professor Brandy Britton was also allegedly a prostitute. She was arrested and charged with prostitution in 2006, but committed suicide before being tried in a court of law. D.C. Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey claimed she employed Britton within her prostitution racket.

Palfrey was found dead in May 2008 of a suspected suicide.

Britton's former husband Isamu Tubyangye was imprisoned and banned from the state of Maryland for his constant spousal abuse.
