Blue Dragon
Blue Dragon is a role-playing game developed by
Mistwalker and
Artoon.
Story
Blue Dragon follows a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. They all possess miraculous strength and magical power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters. The heroic party must use their shadows as weapons as they battle the evil forces and a group of humans who were thought to have perished long ago. Shu and his friends must band together and learn how to wield their power skillfully in order to save the world.
Gameplay
Blue Dragon plays very similar to most RPGs. There are no random battles, so so you are able to see all the enemies on the map and avoid them or attack them. Besides fighting enemies one on one, you can also utilize field skills as a way to engage multiple wandering enemies at once. Although you don't get any experience points or gold for using field skills it gives you a couple of skill points (needed for leveling up your shadow) for each kill. During battle, your team lines up against the enemies and takes turns attacking with your magical shadows. Each shadow can be assigned to one of nine classes such as monk and white mage. As you play, the character classes begin to expand as does the number of unlocked skills. Skills for each class are assigned by the player with the use of skill points. But you can also assign skills related to a class to your shadow even after you have switched to a different class. The game spans well over 50+ hours and includes several side-quests and achievements that you can accomplish.
